Color change system for various 2K polyurethane paints

A paint shop in the Finnish town of Järvenpää needed a 2K wet paint system for its new production hall that would enable quick changes between five different colors. These were 2K polyurethane topcoats that used the same hardener.
Our dealer SerSale Oy supplied a total of seven WIWA pumps: five PHOENIX GX pumps with a pressure ratio of 53:1 for the A component. A PHOENIX GX and a PROFIT made of stainless steel, mounted on wall brackets, were used for the B component and the flushing agent.
One of the biggest challenges in this project was the extremely limited space in the paint booth. However, the space was optimally utilized thanks to the compact pumps, which were integrated into pneumatic lifting devices. With this design, only the material containers were moved, while the pumps were positioned directly on top of them. This saved space and also resulted in a cleaner working environment without the need for additional suction hoses. The FLEXIMIX 1 dosing unit was installed outside the ATEX zone, from where the paints could be controlled safely and precisely and the different mixing ratios were easily adjusted. 
The implementation of the project provided the customer with an efficient and reliable paint solution that meets their requirements for flexibility, fast and uncomplicated color changes and flushing processes, as well as quality.
This system is compatible with various spraying methods such as airless, AirCombi or electrostatic spraying and can be adapted to the customer's individual needs, e.g., the addition of further colors.
