Reliability and precision for more than 75 years: WIWA Wilhelm Wagner GmbH & Co. KG is one of the world's leading developers and producers of single and multi-component airless paint spraying equipment, fluid transfer, extrusion and injection systems.
The application spectrum of our equipment and systems ranges from precision painting and bonding in mechanical and vehicle engineering to covering large surface areas with high-build coatings in the marine and offshore industries, in building and corrosion protection and in passive fire protection.
In 1946, while employed as a precision mechanic at the Leitz company in Wetzlar, Germany, Wilhelm Wagner, the founder of WIWA, worked in his off hours in an unheated air-raid shelter and manufactured nozzles for crop dusting applications. The name WIWA is derived from the first two letters of his first and last names, WIlhelm WAgner.
In 1950, the Wilhelm Wagner KG was officially founded. Orders for the production of nozzles and air motors for lubrication equipment followed on a contractual basis. In 1958, the company began manufacturing its own complete lubrication pumps.
During an economic recession in 1967-1968, Wilhelm Wagner expanded the product offering to steer his company into the future and introduced our first paint spraying pump, the "Airless 2000" in Munich in November 1967.
In 1970, a new building was erected in the Gewerbestrasse in Lahnau-Waldgirmes, which is still in use today. 2007 saw the addition of a production hall which was built on the same property, securing our headquarters location for the long term.
In June 2000, WIWA launched our first subsidiary, WIWA LP, located in Tucker, GA. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Cheasapeake, VA to be closer to our military clients and the numerous shipyards located in the area. With growth every year, we soon found it necessary to expand further, so a larger facility was purchased in Alger, OH and the doors opened in January 2011. Today, reformed as WIWA LLC, we are responsible for maintaining our distribution network covering North, Central and South America, including the Caribbean. Our team of experts provides all sales and technical support for our region, as well as assisting our headquarters in Germany with numerous projects outside our region.
